I decided to join in the fun with Anne of In Residence and Shea of Shea Lennon to link up some of my capsule wardrobe thoughts for spring. They are doing a group postings over there all month about spring capsule wardrobes.
This week's theme is all about transitioning to spring from your winter wardrobe. This is easily accomplished with some fun accessories. For me, one of the first things I changed over was I started adding in fun colorful scarves. Here's my three favorites that are in rotation right now. Even something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans can get a breath of fresh air from a fun scarf. And the best part is that it keeps you warm, since it's still a little chilly.
The second super-easy way to transition an outfit from winter to spring is with shoes. For the spring I've started to rotate in flats and sandals in place of the booties I wore all winter. Here I've got some great little moccasins that add a little boho flair, and I got some Chucks for spring, they just make every outfit look more laid back. Also pictured are my all time favorite sandals.
This is one thing that a capsule wardrobe has taught me maybe more than anything else. Shoes can completely change the feel of an outfit. I was really never much of a shoe girl before, but realizing this has made a world of difference for me.
And finally, my favorite thing this season has been to bring in some fun prints to my wardrobe! Pictured below is this gorgeous shirt that I got at Anthropologie last winter for my birthday. I've only just been able to wear it though because it's lightweight, and 3/4 length sleeves, not great for freezing temperatures.
In fact, I'm wearing it right now as I type this. I'm on my way out to a homemade ice cream party!
Hope you all have fun springy weekends!
