drawing to a close

The Oak man's cousin (and girlfriend) popped into town yesterday. We've had the perfect end of summer weekend. Last night we stayed up way too late on the back porch just relaxing aand chatting away. Then slept late this morning, took a bike ride to our favorite little brunch spot and spent the afternoon wandering the shops of Bardstown Rd. After that, we got a chance to spend some time on another porch- some friends that are moving back into town and got a great house by Tyler Park (sg's favorite park) They're fixing up a few things before they move in. Rode back to the house to pack up a picnic dinner and headed back out to Cherokee Triangle to see a zydeco band at the sunday night outdoor show. They had washboards and tambourines put out for the kiddos, and sg brought her harmonica and was jamming. O. man's cousin is from San Fransisco, and full of great stories, we all always have such a fun time hanging out with them, and his girlfriend is great. She's studying International policies and they just got back from a year in Italy. She goes to John Hopkins U. In a couple days they will be on their way up to DC. It's been a great distraction from starting school tomorrow. Summer went by way too fast.
